The wine is a deep, intense red. The nose reveals aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and a subtle touch of spice. On the palate, the attack is direct, followed by a beautiful tannic structure, carried by a vibrant freshness. The long and harmonious finish hints at notes of undergrowth and licorice, promising excellent aging potential.

Producer

Producer

The Domaine Faiveley vineyard is rooted in clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The vines, some several decades old, benefit from a temperate continental climate, with hot summers and harsh winters. This combination of soil and climate produces concentrated and balanced grapes, reflecting the identity of Gevrey-Chambertin. Environmentally friendly farming practices aim to preserve biodiversity and soil health, thus guaranteeing the quality of the wines.

Owner and history

Domaine Faiveley is currently managed by the seventh generation of the Faiveley family, who carry on the family winemaking legacy with passion and dedication. The owners are committed to maintaining the estate's reputation for excellence while innovating to meet contemporary challenges. Their vision is to produce authentic wines that reflect a unique terroir, while respecting the environment and preserving the traditions for which Burgundy is renowned.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Faiveley is a meticulous art, blending tradition and innovation. The grapes are hand-harvested and then carefully destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden vats, promoting a gentle extraction of tannins. After aging for several months in oak barrels, some of which are new, the wine acquires remarkable aromatic complexity. This aging method enhances the fruit while incorporating subtle woody notes, resulting in an elegant structure and exceptional aging potential.
