Tasting notes

The dress of Clos Des Ursules reveals itself in a deep ruby hue. The expressive nose exhales aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and spicy notes. On the palate, the texture is silky, revealing a beautiful concentration of red fruit, accompanied by floral nuances. The long, mineral finish hints at a promise of harmonious aging.

Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs wonderfully with duck breast with red berries or a platter of mature cheeses.

The vineyard of Clos The Domaine des Ursules is situated on clay-limestone soils, typical of the Beaune region. These mineral-rich soils offer an exceptional terroir for Pinot Noir. climat Burgundy's temperate, continental climate, with its hot summers and cold winters, promotes optimal grape ripening. The carefully tended vines benefit from ideal exposure, resulting in high-quality grapes bursting with flavor and character.

Owner and history

The trading house Louis Jadot The winery has been owned by the Kopf family since 1985 (three sisters). Thomas Seiter has been its president since 2022. Thibault Gagey, son of Pierre-Henry, has also been the managing director since 2022, and Frédéric Barnier is the technical director (who succeeded Jacques Lardière in 2010). Their passion for Burgundy and its terroir is reflected in every bottle, guaranteeing authentic and refined wines that delight wine lovers worldwide.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Louis Jadot is a meticulous and respectful process for the fruit. After the grapes are hand-harvested, they are destemmed before being placed in vats. Fermentation, carried out at a controlled temperature, allows for the gentle extraction of aromas and tannins. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 to 18 months. This method gives the wine a complexity and structure that make it a grand cru from Burgundy, while preserving the identity of the terroir.
