The Clos de l'Ecu vineyard is situated on clay-limestone soils, typical of the Beaune region. This unique terroir provides the vines with excellent drainage and heat retention, promoting optimal grape ripening. The continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters, allows for the full development of Pinot Noir aromas. The vines, averaging 40 years old, are cultivated with care, ensuring controlled yields and exceptional quality.

Owner and history

Domaine Faiveley is currently managed by the Faiveley family, who have preserved the family heritage while innovating in their winemaking practices. In 2014, Erwan Faiveley took over the estate, bringing a fresh perspective while respecting tradition. His vision is to further enhance the estate's international reputation, while emphasizing quality and authenticity. The owners are deeply committed to preserving their terroir and continuously improving their wines, making Faiveley a leading player in Burgundy.

Vinification and aging

The vinification of Clos de l'Ecu Monopole 2024 follows Burgundian traditions. The grapes, carefully hand-harvested, are destemmed before being fermented in wooden vats. Aging for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels, some of which are new, imparts complexity and structure to the wine. During this period, the wine is regularly racked to encourage the integration of aromas. This meticulous process reveals the full essence of the terroir and results in an elegant wine, ready to be enjoyed now or cellared for years to come.
