    Description

" Powerful and elegantly beautiful. Black cherries, black raspberries, flowers, and assorted red fruits come together in its flawless character and luxurious finish. " The Wine Advocate, 94 points/100

2000 is a great vintage for the Domaine. A wine of perfect maturity, from an iconic estate.

Domaine de la Grange des Pères , located in Aniane in the Languedoc-Roussillon region , is renowned for producing one of the finest wines in the area. Its red cuvée is a blend of three main grape varieties: Syrah (40%), Mourvèdre (40%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). The different grape varieties are vinified and aged separately for 26 months in Burgundy barrels.

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

The wine is a deep, almost dark red. The nose opens with aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is velvety, followed by a structured body where notes of cocoa and candied fruit mingle. The long, lingering finish offers a lovely freshness, inviting another sip.

    Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs wonderfully with duck breast with cherries or a selection of mature cheeses.

    Producer

The Domaine de la Grange des Pères vineyard stretches across sunny slopes, where each vine is meticulously tended to guarantee high-quality production. The soils, composed of clay and limestone, impart a beautiful minerality to the wines. The Mediterranean climate, with its hot summers and cool winters, promotes optimal grape ripening, allowing the full aromatic richness of the grape varieties to be expressed.

    Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by Laurent Vaillé, whose commitment to excellence is reflected in every bottle. Passionate about his terroir, he perpetuates a family tradition while incorporating environmentally friendly practices. His vision is clear: to produce authentic wines that tell the story of their land of origin, while offering an unforgettable sensory experience.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine de la Grange des Pères is a meticulous process, blending tradition and modernity. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks, allowing for gentle tannin extraction. Aging takes place in oak barrels, imparting aromatic complexity and a silky texture to the wine. This care at every stage guarantees wines of great finesse and excellent aging potential.
