The Domaine Pierre Girardin vineyards stretch across the prestigious terroirs of Vosne-Romanée, where Pinot Noir finds its most authentic expression. The clay-limestone soils, rich in minerals, impart remarkable complexity and depth to the grapes. The region's temperate climate, with its cool nights, allows the grapes to ripen slowly, developing intense aromas and a beautiful acidity. Each plot is meticulously cultivated, respecting natural cycles to guarantee sustainable and high-quality viticulture. The vines, some decades old, bear witness to the winemakers' ancestral expertise and are cultivated with particular care, aiming to reveal the very essence of this exceptional terroir.

    Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by the Girardin family, who carry on Pierre Girardin's legacy with passion and determination. Drawing on their experience and love for Burgundy, the current owners have adapted viticultural and winemaking methods to contemporary demands while remaining true to tradition. They are committed to sustainable viticulture, respecting the environment and striving to express the unique characteristics of each terroir. Their dedication to excellence results in wines that appeal to both enthusiasts and experts, making Domaine Pierre Girardin a leading name in the Vosne-Romanée appellation.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Pierre Girardin is carried out in accordance with Burgundian tradition. After a carefully selected, hand-harvested grape harvest, the grapes are destemmed before being placed in vats for a gentle fermentation. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, to add complexity while preserving the purity of the fruit. Aging lasts approximately 12 to 18 months, during which the wine develops its aromas and structure. Bottling is done unfiltered to maintain the wine's integrity. Each step is carried out with meticulous attention, reflecting the passion and expertise of the Girardin family.
