THE Clos Vougeot, a true emblem of Burgundy, covers 50 hectares in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The soil is composed mainly of limestone and clay, offering excellent drainage and mineral richness. climat The semi-continental climate, with its hot summers and harsh winters, allows for optimal grape ripening. The vines, some decades old, have deep roots in this unique terroir, giving the wines a distinct personality and unparalleled complexity.

Owner and history

The trading house Louis Jadot The winery has been owned by the Kopf family since 1985 (three sisters). Thomas Seiter has been its president since 2022. Thibault Gagey, son of Pierre-Henry, has also been the managing director since 2022, and Frédéric Barnier is the technical director (who succeeded Jacques Lardière in 2010). Their passion for Burgundy and its terroir is reflected in every bottle, guaranteeing authentic and refined wines that delight wine lovers worldwide.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Louis Jadot Respecting traditional methods while incorporating modern practices, the carefully selected grapes are destemmed and fermented in wooden vats. Aging in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months refines the tannins and imparts delicate woody nuances. This meticulous process aims to preserve the terroir's identity while producing a wine of great finesse and elegance.
