The Château Rauzan-Gassies vineyard stretches across gravelly, clay, and limestone soils, ideal for the development of Bordeaux grape varieties. The diversity of these soils allows for a wide range of aromas, while the oceanic climate moderates extremes, promoting optimal grape ripening. The vines, averaging several decades old, are cultivated with care, respecting the principles of sustainable viticulture to preserve the quality of the terroir.

    Owner and history

Today, Château Rauzan-Gassies is run by a family passionate about the art of winemaking. Their commitment to quality and tradition is reflected in every bottle. They are determined to preserve the estate's heritage while innovating to meet the expectations of modern wine lovers. Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Rauzan-Gassies is carried out with meticulous care. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully sorted before being destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to ensure gentle tannin extraction. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for approximately 12 to 18 months. This aging process imparts complexity and depth to the wine, while respecting the character of the terroir.
