Tasting notes

Château Le Pin 2024 Rouge reveals an intense purple robe with deep reflections. The nose is expressive, dominated by aromas of blackberry, fresh truffle, and noble oak. On the palate, the attack is silky, supported by a fine texture and remarkable concentration. The tannins are velvety, the whole displays rare precision, with an impressive length on the palate, evoking cedar and candied black fruits. A truly haute couture cuvée, crafted for emotion.

Food & wine pairings

Perfect with a beef fillet Rossini, a roast pigeon or ceps à la bordelaise.

The Château Le Pin vineyard covers barely two hectares, planted exclusively with Merlot, on an exceptional terroir blending clay and gravel. Situated on a gentle slope in Pomerol, this well-drained soil allows the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. The planting density, massal selection, and meticulous care given to each vine result in a refined and concentrated expression of the varietal. Yields are intentionally low to guarantee maximum quality. This rarity of the terroir is reflected in every vintage, affirming the estate's inimitable presence in the world of fine wines.

Owner and history

Château Le Pin has belonged to the Thienpont family since 1979, who also own Vieux Château Certan. Jacques Thienpont, a visionary and discreet man, has elevated this tiny estate to the pinnacle of Bordeaux winemaking. Surrounded by a small team, he cultivates an extreme level of excellence, prioritizing precision and respect for the terroir. His vision is based on luxury craftsmanship applied to wine: producing little, but with absolute rigor. Thanks to this approach, Château Le Pin has become a living legend, embodying a different idea of Bordeaux prestige, founded on finesse, rarity, and emotion.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking at Château Le Pin respects an artisanal philosophy: each plot is harvested manually and then vinified in small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
The 2024 vintage benefits from extended aging in new French oak barrels for 18 to 20 months, with regular lees stirring. This meticulous care reveals remarkable finesse in extraction and enhances the purity of the fruit. The wine is aged unfiltered to preserve its integrity before being bottled by plot, numbered, and carefully selected. This rigorous process results in an exceptional Pomerol with remarkable aging potential.

The team's opinion

This 2024 reveals a rare depth and sensuality, where the precision of the fruit embraces a silky and infinitely elegant structure.
