The Château d'Armailhac vineyard covers 70 hectares, planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The gravelly soils offer excellent drainage, encouraging deep roots that draw up minerals. Pauillac's temperate oceanic climate, with its mild winters and hot summers, contributes to the optimal ripening of the grapes. Each plot is carefully managed to fully express the potential of this exceptional terroir.

    Owner and history

Since 1989, Château d'Armailhac has been part of the renowned Rothschild family. Under their stewardship, the estate has undergone a renaissance, blending traditional expertise with modern winemaking techniques. The owners are committed to sustainability, striving to preserve the environment while producing high-quality wines. Their passion for wine and respect for the terroir are reflected in every bottle, offering wine lovers a unique experience.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château d'Armailhac is an art that blends tradition and modernity. The grapes, harvested by hand, are carefully sorted to retain only the finest. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, lasts approximately 12 months. This process imparts structure and complexity to the wine, while respecting the unique character of the terroir.
