Notes and pairings

Tasting notes

The great wine of Château Coutet is served at a temperature between 10°C and 13°C. According to Château Coutet, this Barsac will pair wonderfully with langoustine and asparagus ravioli or a scallop carpaccio with passion fruit. For more traditional dishes, we suggest the following menu: - Appetizer: Roquefort and walnut toasts - Starter: Pan-fried foie gras - Dish: Quail - Cheese: Bleu de Bresse - Dessert: Exotic fruit salad and its Bordeaux canelé

Owner and history

The Château Coutet vineyard covers an area of 38 hectares. Its exceptional terroir consists of a reddish clay-limestone soil and above all a unique microclimate: the golden triangle. With the Garonne to the west, the Ciron river to the east, and the Landes forest to the south forming the famous triangle, persistent mists appear. This alchemy of the elements creates the ideal conditions for the development of Botrytis, the secret of Sauternes wines.

Vinification and aging

- Hand-harvested grapes with successive sorting
- Aged in barrels, 80% of which are new, for 16 to 18 months
