The essential reference for great Chilean wines.
95/100 pts VINOUS “ The ripe and complex nose is both fruity and jammy with notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, layers of herbs and ash, sweet spices, cardamom, hints of vanilla, cedar, and orange shortbread. Delicious and full-bodied, with grippy tannins. This is a concentrated, delicately sculpted red, to which the oak lends volume, with beautiful balance and a long finish. ”
Terroir : Located in the Puente Alto district, in the Maipo Valley, Almaviva cultivates Bordeaux grape varieties on gravelly soils.
Viticulture : The year 2020 was exceptionally dry.
Winemaking : no pumping. Pressing in small vertical presses and aging for 20 months in French oak barrels, 73% of which are new and the rest second use.
Born from a collaboration between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and the Chilean winery Concha y Toro , this unique vintage combines Bordeaux refinement with the power of Andean terroirs. Located near Santiago, the estate benefits from a Mediterranean climate ideal for cultivating noble grape varieties.

Tasting notes
Almaviva 2020 displays an intense purple robe with violet highlights. The nose, complex and expressive, blends aromas of ripe black fruit, cedar, sweet spices, and blond tobacco. On the palate, the texture is silky and dense, with fine, perfectly integrated tannins. The robust structure is balanced by remarkable freshness. The finish is long and elegant, marked by notes of blackcurrant, graphite, and cocoa. An intense and harmonious wine to discover now.
