Introduced in the 15th century, the cultivation of this great wine only truly developed in the second half of the 19th century. It was then that a wine with a pale yellow color and a refined, elegant nose was discovered. On the palate, Riesling is a dry wine, among the best in the world, which can be enjoyed both young and with age. With winemakers like René Muré, Riesling has a bright future ahead. Riesling primarily refers to a specific grape variety from Alsace . By extension, the wines produced from these grapes bear the same name. These are dry white wines that can age for several decades. They have a pale yellow color with green highlights, and a refined and elegant nose, reminiscent of white-fleshed fruits, flowers, or citrus. The palate is lively and full-bodied with a delicate acidity. Riesling pairs beautifully with shellfish, fish in a cream sauce, or even caviar.

Domaine Schoenheitz

The Schoenheitz estate marked the rebirth of the vineyard in Wihr-au-Val, in the Munster Valley. It was indeed Henri Schoenheitz Sr. who undertook to clear the land and replant the vines there in the 1970s. The first vinification was carried out in 1980 by Henri Jr. and his wife, and they are still the ones who manage the estate using sustainable viticulture practices .

The estate produces several Rieslings. The first is floral on the nose, with mineral and lemony notes. The palate is fruity and generous, with lemon returning on the finish. The Herrenreben and Linsenberg cuvées come from specific vineyard sites, cultivated like Grand Cru vineyards.

René Muré Estate

The Muré family has been cultivating vines in Alsace for 12 generations, and today, the René Muré estate is a must-visit in the region. Now, Véronique and Thomas, René's children, have taken over the management of the vineyard. This family has held the monopoly on Clos Saint Landelin since 1935.

In Riesling , the René Muré estate offers several types of wine . First, there are those from specific terroirs: the Côte de Rouffach Riesling has a pale gold color with green highlights, aromas of lime, and pineapple on the palate. It is a dry and crisp white wine . The Clos Saint Landelin Riesling also has a pale yellow color with green highlights. The nose is precise, evoking citrus and peach. The palate is fresh, fruity, and very elegant. The Clos Saint Landelin Vendanges Tardives is a semi-dry, fruity wine with a full and smooth palate. The Sélection de Grains Nobles du Clos Saint Landelin Riesling is a true nectar. This mellow white wine exudes yellow fruit and honey, with toasty notes as well. It can be aged for a very long time.

Finally, the Signature Riesling is a fresh and fruity wine that fully expresses the character of the grape variety .
