The Domaine de Chevalier vineyard stretches across a terroir of deep gravel mixed with clay, characteristic of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The white vines, situated on the best slopes, benefit from excellent sun exposure and optimal natural drainage. The predominantly Sauvignon Blanc grape variety, complemented by Sémillon, allows for the production of wines of great aromatic precision. Thanks to sustainable viticulture and meticulous care of the vines, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, essential for the pure and complex expression of this great white Bordeaux wine.

Owner and history

Since 1983, Domaine de Chevalier has belonged to the Bernard family, a leading figure in the Bordeaux wine trade. Under the passionate leadership of Olivier Bernard, the estate has steadily progressed, achieving a level of excellence recognized worldwide. Committed to sustainable practices and the faithful expression of the terroir, he has implemented demanding viticultural methods, resulting in wines of great purity. Olivier Bernard's vision, combining tradition and innovation, has allowed this classified growth of Graves to establish itself as a benchmark, renowned for both its elegant reds and its majestic whites.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine de Chevalier relies on slow pressing and meticulous settling to preserve the integrity of the aromas. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, a reasonable proportion of which are new. Aging on fine lees, with regular stirring, lasts approximately 18 months, giving the wine richness, body, and complexity.
For the 2024 white vintage, this precise aging process has enhanced the brilliance of the Sauvignon and the structure of the Sémillon, offering an intense, harmonious wine that is both taut, floral and perfectly balanced.
