The Domaine de Chevalier 2024 red wine boasts a deep, intense ruby color with purple highlights. The nose opens with elegant aromas of black fruit, fine wood, and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is direct, then gives way to a velvety, structured texture. The tannins are perfectly integrated, and the freshness balances the whole. The finish is long and persistent, revealing remarkable complexity and promising excellent aging potential.

Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs wonderfully with a rack of roast lamb, duck breast or roast veal with porcini mushrooms.

Producer

Producer

Domaine de Chevalier sits on 60 hectares of deep gravelly soil over a clay-limestone subsoil, giving its wines a mineral freshness and great complexity. Surrounded by a vast forest, the vineyard benefits from a temperate microclimate, ideal for the slow and even ripening of the grapes. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated with meticulous care, combining traditional practices with innovative techniques to guarantee impeccable quality.

Owner and history

Since 1983, Domaine de Chevalier has been owned by the Bernard family, a prominent Bordeaux winery. Under the leadership of Olivier Bernard, the estate has experienced impressive growth, thanks to demanding management and a forward-looking vision. Passionate about wine and deeply attached to his terroir, Olivier Bernard is committed to sustainable and high-quality viticulture. He has modernized the facilities and enhanced precision at every stage of production. This unwavering commitment has elevated the estate to one of Bordeaux's leading producers, combining respect for tradition with innovation.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process relies on rigorous plot selection to preserve the unique character of each terroir. After hand-harvesting and meticulous sorting, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, ensuring a delicate extraction of aromas and structure. Aging continues in French oak barrels (50% new), allowing for a subtle balance between oak and pure fruit.
