The Château Lilian Ladouys vineyard covers nearly 80 hectares south of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The terroir consists of gravelly hillocks of Garonne over a clay-limestone subsoil, ideal for Médoc grape varieties. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated with care according to the principles of sustainable viticulture. The high planting density allows for optimal concentration of the grapes. This complex soil gives the wine a pronounced structure, a beautiful minerality, and an aromatic finesse that develops over time.

Owner and history

Château Lilian Ladouys underwent a decisive transformation in 2008 when it was acquired by Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti, also owners of Château Pédesclaux (Pauillac) and Château d'Issan (Margaux). Visionary and exacting, they undertook a thorough restructuring of the vineyard and technical facilities. Their commitment is reflected in sustainable viticulture and meticulous plot-by-plot work. Thanks to this impetus, the estate has regained its prestige, achieving the "Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel" classification in 2020. Their ambition: to produce elegant and precise wines, on par with the finest Médoc wines.

Vinification and aging

At Château Lilian Ladouys, winemaking follows a traditional and meticulous approach, aiming to enhance the purity of the fruit. For the 2024 vintage, the hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and then slowly macerated at a controlled temperature to delicately extract tannins, color, and aromas. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. This process imparts to the wine a beautiful aromatic complexity, a refined structure, and an ideal balance for harmonious aging.
