THE Château Le Thil, located in the heart of the appellation Pessac-Léognanis a domaine which embodies the authenticity of the Bordeaux terroir. Its wines, of great finesse, reflect ancestral know-how and an unwavering passion for viticulture. The vineyard of Château Le Thil extends across clay-limestone soils that impart a unique minerality to the grapes. The diversity of terroirs within the Pessac-Léognan appellation allows for a varied expression of grape varieties, thus favoring wines of great complexity. climat The temperate oceanic climate, with maritime influences, ensures optimal grape ripening, allowing the full aromatic richness of the terroir to be revealed. Each plot is carefully cultivated, respecting natural cycles to guarantee a high-quality harvest.

Owner and history

The property is bought back by the owners of Château Smith Haut Lafitte in 2012. The owners, drawing on their experience and knowledge of the terroir, work with dedicated teams to ensure that each wine is a true reflection of their domaine. Their vision is to produce wines that tell the story of their land, while respecting nature and preserving the winemaking heritage of Bordeaux.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Le Thil is a true art form. The carefully selected grapes are vinified with meticulous attention. After a manual harvest, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity of the aromas. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, adds further complexity to the wine while respecting its character. This aging period allows the tannins to soften and the aromas to intensify, resulting in a balanced and elegant wine, ready to seduce even the most discerning palates.
