The Château d'Issan vineyard stretches across varied soils, a blend of gravel, clay, and sand, creating a terroir ideal for the flourishing of the grape varieties. Bordeaux's oceanic climate, with its mild winters and sunny summers, allows for optimal grape ripening. The vines are cultivated with care, receiving meticulous attention and incorporating environmentally friendly farming methods. This contributes to the exceptional quality of the grapes, which are hand-harvested to ensure only the finest fruit is selected.

Owner and history

Currently, Château d'Issan is managed by the Cruse family, who took over the estate with the ambition of preserving its heritage while innovating. Their passion for winemaking and their commitment to quality are reflected in every stage of production. They have restored the estate to its former glory while respecting winemaking traditions. Their vision is to create authentic wines that tell the story of the terroir and can be enjoyed by wine lovers worldwide.

Vinification and aging

The Blason d'Issan 2014 is crafted with meticulous care. After a manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and sorted before being transferred to vats. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging then occurs in oak barrels for an undisclosed period, promoting the integration of oak aromas while preserving the purity of the fruit. This traditional method, combined with modern techniques, results in a wine of great complexity and elegance.
