    The history of the estate

    A growing family estate

He learned the trade alongside his father until 1991. He then went abroad to hone his skills with Josh Jensen inCaliforniaand Garry Farr inAustraliaDuring his travels, he became aware of the potential of the local area.burgundyand develops his interest in viticultureorganic and biodynamic.
Upon his return, he encouraged his father to bottle the wine directly at the estate and withdraw from the cooperative. He expanded the estate by acquiring numerous plots in the finest vineyards.BurgundiansIn parallel, he set up his trading company.

The vineyards of the Côte de Nuits

18 hectares and 23 appellations cultivated using biodynamic methods

The vineyard covers 18 hectares on theCôte de Nuitsand boasts no fewer than 23 appellations, including Morey-Saint-Denis, Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and others. Each terroir is showcased with the utmost purity. To achieve this, the vineyard has been entirely cultivated organically since 2008 and...biodynamicssince 2010. Without pesticides or insecticides, thebiodynamicsThis method enhances soil quality and gives greater prominence to the vineyard's natural environment. Organic life is stimulated and intensified to revitalize the soil and promote deep root development in the vines.

In Burgundy, it's rare to see so many different terroirs vinified by a single estate. The approach to the terroir, the winemaker's sensitivity, and the meticulous work on each plot are remarkable!

    The style of the wines

    Biodynamics, finesse and elegance

Frédéric MagnienThe work done in the vineyard extends all the way to the cellar. This virtuoso of winemaking seeks gentle winemaking methods that allow the characteristics of the soil to express themselves. Thus, the wines are aged in hand-turned terracotta amphorae. Unlike oak barrels, this container does not alter the wine and allows for micro-oxygenation without adding any woody notes. Little by little, Frédéric Magnien is replacing all the barrels on the estate with these amphorae. The purity of the fruit and the typicity of the terroir are expressed simply and authentically. In addition, the wines are aged in old barrels to refine the mineral identity of the terroir.

We are charmed by the wines from this estate.Grands Crus Clos de la RocheAndCharmes-Chambertin,are impressively delicate and refined.1er Cru Les Sentiers, hasChambolle-Musigny, reveals incredible complexity.
