The Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande vineyard covers approximately 85 hectares, spread across the gravelly slopes characteristic of Pauillac, resting on a clay-sand subsoil. This diversity of soils lends a richness of expression to the wine, contributing both structure and finesse. The vines, with an average age of around 35 years, are cultivated with meticulous care and according to the principles of sustainable viticulture. The microclimate, tempered by the proximity of the Gironde estuary, promotes a slow and optimal ripening of the grapes, essential for the aromatic balance and freshness of the wine.

Owner and history

Owned by the Roederer family group since 2007, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is passionately managed by Nicolas Glumineau, oenologist and general manager. Under his leadership, the estate has reached a decisive milestone in its pursuit of precision and purity. Glumineau embodies a modern vision of great terroir-driven wines, combining tradition, innovation, and respect for the environment. Investments in the winery, rigorous plot selection, and adaptation to climate change: every action aims to enhance the expression of the Pauillac terroir. The dedication of the teams ensures the consistent quality and international renown of the château.

Vinification and aging

At the Château, vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, plot by plot, to fully express the unique character of each terroir. Fermentation is precisely managed, followed by a long maceration that promotes the gentle extraction of tannins.
Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2024 is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, approximately 50% of which are new. This aging process gives the wine structure, roundness, and aging potential while respecting the elegance of the fruit. The meticulous aging process contributes to forging the refined signature of this great Pauillac.
