" This is a very powerful and chiseled wine, with marked acidity and great freshness. Ample, yet layered and luminous. A tight mid-palate. One of my favorite whites of the vintage. —James Suckling, 97-98 points/100

" Aromas of linden blossom, yellow apples, and fresh grapefruit, enhanced by hints of crushed stone, straw, and sea mist. The medium-bodied palate displays a superb satiny texture and unfolds layers of citrus and apple with fantastic intensity, culminating in a profusion of mineral and herbaceous highlights on the long finish. " The Wine Advocate, 94+ points/100

Château Cos d'Estournel , located in Saint-Estèphe , is renowned for its exceptional wines. Resembling an ancient Indian palace, Cos d'Estournel is unlike any other Bordeaux château. It was founded in the early 19th century by Louis Gaspard d'Estournel, and the château was built once the vineyards were established, in celebration of his conquests in the Far East.

Since 2000, Cos d'Estournel has been in the hands of the French hotelier Michel Reybier. Under his management, the château has experienced remarkable growth.

Without a doubt, the terroir is a determining factor. Cos's 104 hectares of vineyards, some dating back to the early 20th century, lie directly opposite Lafite – a stone's throw to the south, neighbors but separated by the Jalle du Breuil canal. The majority of the vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, on deep, ideal, and well-drained gravelly soils.
